On this day I…
Woke up to one my my best sleep scores on the ‘ShutEye’ app (no endorsement) of 98. My average is 83. I have to admit, I did feel pretty damn good this morning even if I did decide to stay in bed for another hour…
Yes yes yes I did my usual reading. New books this week;
Outlive by Dr. Peter Attia
Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday
And The Art of Expressing The Human Body by Bruce Lee (Edited by John Little).
The Bruce Lee book is of more importance as it’ll become the basis of my new workout system. It’s just the starting point. You see I have no interest in getting BIG. I’m not here to win bodybuilding competitions. I do want an aesthetically pleasing body but also one that is functional, flexible, and can endure punishment.
This new system of training will of course mean a new diet, which is good because my two month run on Carnivore is up. This means back onto Keto…
Well…
I’ll be on higher carbs during training days and keto the rest of the time. My training days will be on days I’m not working at the bar as I don’t want to rush to get through them. This would of course result in me hating it and then stopping.
Both my training and diet NEED to be sustainable in the long term. Sure they’ll change as time goes on, but those changes will be in the type of training;
Speed // Power // Strength // Endurance
While maintaining a non-bulky physique.
My diet will have to change depending on the training type (as above) I’ll be doing.
I did just say that I want to maintain a non-bulky physique but for a few months every year, I want to concentrate on powerlifting. Yet still want to keep my relatively average frame. So, I will train in overcoming isometrics and technique in the three main powerlifting movements;
Benchpress
Squat
Deadlift
To increase overall strength but retain a smaller build than If I went balls to the wall POWERLIFTER.
The idea is to build strength, not bulk. To retain flexibility and freedom of movement.
