On this day I…
Here we are again, nothing to write about except having nothing to write about.
Or, maybe, yeah. Hang on.
Yesterday I decided to start making YouTube videos. One will go live today at 14:00. It’s just a quick and dirty, spur-of-the-moment, just make one, upload it and see what happens kinda thing.
As I was editing that video it hit me. I liked doing this, but the quick and dirty approach wasn’t sitting well.
I could have scrapped the whole thing and started over but if I knew me, and I tend to, I would have done nothing.
Instead, I came up with a plan, in my head. It’s still in there because I haven’t written it down until now.
I write three journal-style posts a week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. And I also write a major post to be published on Fridays.
So here’s the deal; The Mon-Wed posts will be given two or three minutes of air time each. I’ll put them all together and upload the six to nine-minute video on Wednesday.
The Friday post will be given all of the time, at least six minutes, but no more than twelve or fifteen, and posted the week after.
Any material not used in these videos can be used or reshot to be used as a YouTube short/Insta Reel/X/TikTok post.
That is the plan.
This will of course take up some time. Converting blog posts into shotable scripts (or most likely bullet points). A shot list so I can capitalise on my experience with video cameras. And then the shot.
I have a style in mind. A cinematic look. And a way of shooting so outside interference will be minimised.
I have the material. Frankly, this post should be the first one I shot.
That video would then be posted on YouTube and here, at the end of this post.
Okay, stop thinking about it and get on with it!
Below is a video I put together based on the last three posts.
I’m a Professional Photographer who dabbles in Writing and Documentary Film Making.
I’ve recently quit my job of three and a half years as a Bartender/Manager. Photography began as a hobby and quickly became a passion.
I’m a Professional Photographer, Filmmaker, Writer/Author and this website is where I’m going to document all of it. The good, the bad and the ugly.
