Well, that’s the time I typed that time…

Today or yesterday, I received some excellent packages. Something from The Daily Stoic and Amazon.

First, The Daily Stoic. So I joined the Daily Stoic Life a while back, and when you join, you are offered a free gift in the shape of a book of the daily Stoic emails. If you subscribe to their mailing list, you get a piece of stoic wisdom sent to your inbox daily from Mon-Fri. If you join DSL, you get one everyday Mon-Sun. The book is all of the emails sent out in 2021. Imagine a 2022 book is coming soon. It comes in a lovely presentation box; you get the book, a Marcus Aurelius coin, and a pen to write your daily journals. At the start of the week, I also received from the Daily Stoic my copy of Meditations (by Marcus Aurelius), the Gregory Hays translations; it’s a beautiful black leather bound copy, and I have to say, I’ve wanted a leather-bound copy of this book for a long time and the moment Ryan Holiday (The Daily Stoic) told us he was releasing one I immediately pre-ordered. Now, it arrived in the country 5 weeks ago and had been sitting with UPS; I called them a few times and nothing, I tried to do something online, which never worked, and I even sent a message to The Daily Stoic asking for help, but pretty much got nothing. Anyway, I arrived on Monday. I’ll add photos once I get some good ones.

Below, you can see some photos I took with my new toy, a Fujifilm X-E4, shot with a TT Artisans 23mm f1.4 (35mm equivalent) and using the Eterna bleach bypass film simulation, and I have to say, they really do remind my of fuji camera film like Pro 400H (Gawd rest it). I bought it on impulse. Of course, I did; I also bought some lenses, an XF 23mm f1.4 and an XF 35mm f1.4. And, of course, lest not forget the X-H2 and the XF 18mm - 55mm and XF 55mm - 200mm zoom lenses… I get bored and buy things. But the X-E4 I was contemplating for a week. I had it in my Amazon basket, just waiting to get drunk. Well, a few days ago, I finished my Longmorn 11yo from Highland Laird and opened my Benromach (9yo) London Bartenders Edition (Limited to 201 bottles). I got drunk and thought, “fuck it”. And I’m happy I did; it’s a great little camera, and now I have no excuses to not carry a camera EVERYWHERE!
