You must learn to better understand their thoughts and understanding of how their world works. Or at the least how their world works according to them, whether it makes sense to you or not.
They do and say things that seem, to you anyway, irrational. They hold tight to their belief with an iron grip unable or unwilling to let it go. You can’t change this until you understand them better.
Study their actions and what they say closely like an anthropologist from another world—trying to make sense of this ‘new’ species in all their glorious irrationality.
Why do they covert the mop with such spite and anger?
