On this day I…
Tried to figure out the Why.
The Wednesday Project (Batman by 50) is a challenge to Me. Just how much can I improve myself in three years?
The health stuff is simple enough; Eat well and go to the gym. That is supposed to get my body in shape.
Getting in shape is great and all, but I also want to condition my body, basically bulletproofing my joints, my bones and my muscles.
Age catches up to all of us eventually and there is nothing we can do about it, no matter what Bryan Johnson says, Time is immutable. Everything dies. We can slow it down with stronger bones and muscles, but we can’t stop it.
Then there is the brain.
If we treat it like a muscle it gets stronger, though you can’t exercise it in a gym, though it does help in other ways, your brain would be better helped in a library. Reading or studying hard or complex material with force your brain to work harder and create new neuroconnections. And the act of using them, keeping them active, will keep them healthy.
You don’t need to study quantum physics, just read books that are slightly more difficult than you’re used to. Philosophy or Dostoevsky and Tolstoy. Read some classics. Just keep it on the edge of your comprehension.
The subjects I chose have meaning to me;
The Science of Learning.
Psychology / Criminology.
Science (Physics, chemistry, biology).
Warfare (strategy and tactics).
History (Anglo-Saxon, Viking).
Philosophy.
Business.
These subjects were all chosen for a reason. Some for fun and knowledge others for writing my Detective Series of books, and business because I want to turn all of this into a training program for people in my age demographic (45+).
Yes, I’m aware this looks like I want to be Batman, but what’s wrong with that? I use him as an ideal, something to aim for. Smart, capable, with an unstoppable Will.
But… How do you cultivate an unstoppable Will?
I’m a Professional Photographer who dabbles in Writing and Documentary Film Making.
I’ve recently quit my job of three and a half years as a Bartender/Manager. Photography began as a hobby and quickly became a passion.
I’m a Professional Photographer, Filmmaker, Writer/Author and this website is where I’m going to document all of it. The good, the bad and the ugly.
